Above the ground is still possible see the morning fog, when our three-man group stopped near of the abandoned fortresses. This fortification was used in Six days war in year 1967, when Syria lost this area once for all.  Wrecks of tanks and other army vehicles, alike the mines fields around, gave to the scene element of nostalgia. Bunker, else buried almost to his half size in to the ground, was still looking full of fighting capacity.  33 years ago in his bowels were hidden soldiers, which were trying to escape from falling enemy’s bombs. Old rusty weapons leaved here to their destiny, still aim at east, from where is expecting the new attack of the “barbarian” soldiers, which will came to destroy the Holy land.  Weapons stand here like warning. “We can be replace with new once, fully functional, in few hours,” like they would like to say. Peace and quiet, almost no move, jus group of the wild pigs are running across the mines fields, directly to Syria. To whom they can be afraid here?

Golan highlands are mountainous area near to the south end of the mountains of Antilibanon. Disputable domain became in year 1967, when they felled to the Israeli hands like war booty from the victorious Six days war. UN and other organizations designate it as occupied area. Israel this decision (UN decision number 497) never accepted and in year 1981 expanded Israeli authority around region, which was publicly denounce by a number of states and international organizations. Directly after occupation, started the building of settlements, which was followed by mass of new inhabitants – settlers. It the year 2008 were living here just 30 000 from the native people, which were 80 000 (lots if the became refuges in Syria after the war). From the 1972 to year 2008 was the Israeli population growing up.  From 77 to 19 083. Majority of Arab’s (mostly Druze) take voluntarily the Syrian citizenship.
